IKON Homes has won silver for their entry in the Registered Master Builders House of the Year 2020 competition.

House Of The Year - Silver Award

The awards were held virtually this year. The IKON team celebrated at their offices and were awarded a silver for their Waimauku build.

Registered Master Builders described the entry as being where heritage and rustic styles come together in a contemporary way to form the expansive 358sqm home to the north-west of Auckland. Very much a homestead that suits its rural environment, the house has been built with a young family in mind. There is plenty of space for them to spread out across the five bedrooms, three stunning bathrooms, and three living areas.

The handsome weatherboard home with a tiled gable roof is a nod to classic bungalow design and has been built to last for generations. The cathedral ceiling with exposed timber trusses in the open-plan living makes the space feel grand. This is complemented by feature pendant lighting throughout the home, including over the kitchen’s island bench. The kitchen overlooks the living hub and is an exemplar of form and function, with a bold brick-look subway tiled splashback, farmhouse sink, and a sliding barn door to the walk-in pantry. Sliding doors also open onto the covered outdoor entertaining area and swimming pool. Lots of memories will be made in this family home.

Colin Beaumont, Director of Ikon Homes, says “being able to enter our builds into competitions such as this, gives our clients (and us) a double celebration in designing and building homes that our clients can be proud to call home”.

The team at IKON Homes have been blessed with great clients and are grateful for them allowing us to design and build their award winning home.
